How do you bring yourself to get over a perfectly beautiful high - a 'trip' of the mind that keeps ferrying you back to the past or into hallucinations of the future?
How do you command yourself back to the NOW, the time you must belong to at the moment?
Okay, you tasted your share of happiness and good dozes of it after agaes; you loved each moment of where you were, with those people, at those very places, and your mind longs to go back to them at every little opportunity.
But, is it healthy to race back and forth so often?
And music can only make it worse! It adds rhythm to your thoughts; you go visual syncing moments,
placing yourself in the future, doing newer things, creating fresher memories (each getting more and more perfect with time) till you realise you must STOP!
Perfection to this level can only be attained in sublime states of illusory happiness; a state which
transcends you to a different time and place till the bus halts with a rough jerk or the track of
'The End' by The Doors playing on your phone recedes to finally stop.
You open your eyes to see the yellow streets of a crowded market place bustling with activity. Lines of shops selling cosmetics, drugs, vegetables and withered books. your eyes wander to a heap of
second hand books stashed in a forgotten corner, soaking under the rhythmic drops of a bygone
evening out pour.
The strained voices of the vendors trying to outsell each other utterly shatters your trance.
The matted yellow light of the newly renovated lamp- posts only adds to the drama outside.
As the music of a new track begins to consume you in, the light outside seems to saturate.
You no longer see the people in the street, just purple blue balls of light that wheeze past you as
the bus starts to move. The chilly air pelts and slices your face as you begin sinking in.
You are tripping again...
You are perfectly in rhythm with your thoughts. You are back where you love being the most... into an all consuming world; a queer mix of memories from the past and containing
defect-less slices from the future.
You are living and reliving some of those favourite moments, winding and rewinding them,
hoping they recur at a different place and time in the future, again.
